The Networking Nature Camp 2021 (NNC 21) championed our environmental camping series. Through a combination of expert-led workshops, hands-on activities, excursion to a protected area in Lagos state and immersive experiences, participants gained a deeper understanding of our natural world and the urgent need to safeguard it for future generations.
During Networking Nature Camp 2021, participants had the opportunity to learn from experts representing various environmental organizations, including Plogging Nigeria Club, Lagos Ladies Environmental Club and the Nigerian Society for Environmental Conservation (NSEC). These sessions covered a range of topics, including biodiversity conservation, sustainable living practices, and ecosystem preservation.
In addition to educational sessions, participants engaged in practical conservation efforts through activities such as clean-up activities. This hands-on experience not only contributed to the preservation of local environment but also instilled a sense of responsibility and stewardship in participants.
One of the highlights of Networking Nature Camp 2021 was the excursion to Lekki Conservation Centre, Lagos. Here, participants immersed themselves in nature and explored the rich biodiversity of this unique ecosystem, guided by experts from the Nigerian Conservation Foundation(NCF). Guided tours, canopy walks, and birdwatching expeditions provided campers with unforgettable experiences fostered deeper appreciation for the natural world.
As part of Networking Nature Camp 2021, participants also had the opportunity to work on environmental challenges and develop innovative solutions as part of team projects. The best project ideas were rewarded, encouraging creativity and collaboration among participants.
